Agnieszka Wójcik-Oset
I am 47 years old, a mother to my 19-year-old son, Kuba, and by profession an English teacher. I graduated with a Bachelor’s and then Master’s degree in English Philology at the University of Silesia, completed postgraduate studies in Legal and Court Translation at IPSKT, University of Warsaw, as well as postgraduate studies in Organization and Management in Education. I am passionate about education, personal growth, openness, and building relationships based on honesty, tolerance, and empathy. For many years, I was connected with training companies and worked in business as an English language teacher. However, a 3-year long stay in Belgium and the opportunity to work at an American elementary school inspired me to change my career path, and since 2018 I have been working within the private sector of Polish education system. I deeply believe that the key to our good life is high-quality education as well as the development of soft skills and emotional intelligence in young people.
Privately, I very much enjoy exploring the world—both near and far—taking photos, watching Scandinavian series, reading books about education, psychology, and development, eating sushi and Pavlova meringue, and spending time in nature, which gives me energy and joy. At work, I live by the principle that education is first and foremost about relationships, and that “connect goes before correct.” I believe that a school is the place where the child’s well-being is the foundation and where the Teacher–Child–Parent partnership is essential to achieve the best educational and developmental outcomes. Trust, good organization, commitment, and responsibility are essential in creating inspiring, creative, and safe environment where children can thrive, teachers can find fulfilment in guiding them through new skills and competencies, and parents can feel reassured that their child is safe and happy with professionals and passionate educators.
I am truly delighted to have joined the team at The International School and believe that together we will continue creating a unique place on Poland’s educational map.
